Singapore Night Festival 2022 Returns! - 19 to 27 August

The Singapore Night Festival (SNF) is back on its 13th year with the theme "Rebirth" after a 2-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. SNF has developed alongside Singaporeans over the years with a focus on adding and emphasizing the vibrant and distinct cultural value of the Bras Basah Bugis precinct. 

This year's festival grounds extend beyond the Bras Basah-Bugis precinct and into Fort Canning Park. So, get ready your best cameras and a pair of comfortable shoes for the long awaited festivals which takes place from 19 to 27th August 2022 (7.30pm to 12am)

 Here's some exhibitions lined up for you: 

1) Glitches of You by Amanda Tan

Nope, your screen isn't broken. It's just glitch art and intentionally fractured pixels!
Glitches of You explores the notion of a multicultural modern identity through the artist's eyes as a product of mixed bloodlines and therefore of dual cultures.
 

2) Steps (2022) by Victoria Hertel

Watch these stairs light up your path with every step you take with its motion-responsive feature to manifest vibrant colors all around. 
 

3) Tunnel Graffiti by Lynette Quek

Be sure to visit Fort Canning, which was recently added to the festival area, before you leave. Take your time looking at the amazing murals and sculptures seen throughout the park as you meander through the Fort Canning Park Tree Tunnel filled with interactive graffiti that is activated by sound.
 

4) Stories from Forbidden Hill by Maxin10sity

Stories from Forbidden Hill presents a visual history of Singapore's mythical beginnings and historical development up to the 14th century.
 

5) Cathay Hotel: The Curse of the Missing Red Shoe by Cathay Green

Put your courage to the test at the theatrical production Cathay Hotel: The Curse of the Missing Red Shoe by local art collective Vertical Submarine, especially if traditional horror films no longer frighten you. 
In this anti-fairytale, you can catch iconic characters from the Cathay universe such as Mat Bond, Orang Minyak, Pontianak, Mambo Girl and ASP Latiff.
